Highlight on Team Inspira’s use of GRAPHIC ART
Thursday, 01 May 2014 11:35

Clients and business associates have been asking us about our use of digital media/graphics

in our digital and printed presentations and social media.

Which graphics firm we do use?

So with great delight I am highlighting our digital media is done in-house, by none other than our

wonder whiz-kid: Courtney Thane

(3rd year architect student).

You can see examples of  graphics of Courtney’s work on:

New certificate folder graphics

Shop displays

The World map locations of Origin Australia

Newsletter format

Champagne diamond colour chart/bookmark

Tanzanite bookmark

And coming soon…

Website

New Slideshare on traceability

shirt graphics

In the final 3 months of a 3 year degree, before completing other design-related studies, you can see

Courtney’s art skills are already valuable in a commercial application.

What an amazing future awaits in a very exciting field.

Thankyou Courtney for making Inspira look so good!!!

INSPIRA MAKES THE ETHICAL PLEDGE WITH RAPPAPORT GROUP
Thursday, 01 May 2014 10:01

http://www.ethicalpledge.com/WhoMadeThePledge/Jewelers.aspx

Inspira has joined other jewellers, and wholesale suppliers in pledging to make the supply chain

of gems as transparent as possible, with the end result

being that the industry wants no part in gems that are sourced illegally, unethically, and without

concern for humans rights and the environment.

Many years ago when words like “responsible and ethical” were just whispers in the gem industry,

the team behind Inspira Diamonds had a dream to showcase Australian gems to the rest of the

world, being in awe of the variety that the land offers.

We understood Australian gem’s origins gave the gem industry reassurance that gems can be mined

peacefully and be environmentally responsible.

We knew that the challenge would be working against businesses and industries, that wanted to do

everything bigger, better and faster… and cheaper, but we held to our belief, and our commitment

has led us to work internationally with the leading edge of jewellers, who respect and love the earth

and its people as much as we do.

Ethically sourced diamonds from ORIGIN AUSTRALIA ® have had their origin carefully preserved.

FAIRTRADE CERTIFIED GOLD REACHES AUSTRALIA
Friday, 11 April 2014 16:48

A few months ago a rising star in the world of jewellery, especially jewellery with a history,
has come to our attention. It is with great pleasure that we highlight the work of our feature
jeweller/designer: Zoe Pook.

Zoe is not only a talented, but appreciates the world of ethical sourcing, and the unique
opportunities that ORIGIN AUSTRALIA diamonds and FAIRTRADE GOLD in combination,
offers her clients.

Here are two beautiful designs, each inspired by beautiful stories…

“The design is taken from a cairn (those pebble towers / stupas etc..)  I was in Cornwall
recently and there is a tradition to carry a small pebble to the top of a mountain / hill
when you climb up and place it on top of the rest. It's an ancient and beautiful tradition
and in fact is possibly what gave Cornwall (Kernow) in Celtic its name, as they are everywhere! “

“I thought I'd attach some pics of a ring I just did with one of your Origin Australia cognacs too.
18ct Fairtrade Rose Gold (the first one in Australia!) and a cognac diamond and small whites
also from ORIGIN AUSTRALIA.

here is a message from Zoe about her unique choices and work:

I wanted to share an exciting development in the ethical sourcing of gold in Australia.

"For the very first time in Australia and exclusive to Zoe Pook Jewellery is Fairtrade
Certified Gold.
To celebrate this exciting development in the availability and credibility
of ethical gold, today,

Zoe Pook launched Australia’s first Fairtrade Gold Collection of engagement rings,
complete with Australian diamonds and ethically sourced gems."

I'm super proud to be the only jeweller offering Fairtrade Certified Gold and am
very excited about the new collection.

I have re-branded the website too, so for all the pictures of the collection and
information about Fairtrade Certified Gold have a look at: www.zoepook.com

I've also attached the link to the Fairtrade Australia website with a great article about
the gold.

Kimberley Process and the Australian diamond industry
Friday, 11 April 2014 09:58

Following the brief talk given by our very own Gersande Price, on behalf of Inspira Diamonds,
at the Western Australia GEMMOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA graduation dinner
on 10/4,

please find the reference article links, discussed in the talk.
The talk highlights the discussions taking place on an international level, the position of the
Department of Industry on KP, and our own view that we welcome the time when
declared/transparent gem origins will be standard procedure in the gem industry.
If you should wish to see a copy of the discussion please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Please note this is by no means an exhaustive list of reading material, and if you find
some interesting reading we would be happy to hear from you directly or via the GAA.

Some light reading..
